Thank you for taking the time to add your story and photograph to the Dementia Diaries. To ensure that this website is a safe space to share stories, moderators review all posts before they are visible on the website. Please save a backup of your story prior to submitting. You will receive an email when your submission appears on the website. Dementia Spring reserves the right to reject the submission if it does not meet the guidelines below.

Sharing how your life has changed because of dementia or a special memory of your loved one with dementia can be very meaningful. The Dementia Diaries are about telling the stories behind the statistics. This can inspire others to learn more about dementia and reassure them that they are not alone in coping with dementia in their own lives. 

Please consider sharing a photo, images are a powerful way to help people better connect with your story.

Guidelines for Submission:

Safety and privacy are of the utmost importance. Please note that all posts must adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Please proofread your post. If the story is hard to understand, we may not be able to accept your post.
  • If you are posting about someone with dementia, please make clear your relationship to the person.
  • Stories must be no more than 200 words.
  • Please avoid sharing phone numbers, mailing/email addresses or other personal contact information.
  • Stories that contain malicious, threatening, illegal, graphic, abusive, offensive or otherwise inappropriate content, or that promotes or advocates illegal activity may not be posted.
  • Posts that contain inaccurate or malicious attacks related to any person, entity, or organization will not be posted onto the site.
  • You can highlight your charitable work, but this page cannot be used to request donations.
  • No commercial solicitation or promotion of products is allowed on the site.
  • Please only include photographs or other materials that you own.
  • Posts should not lead a viewer to experience anxiety, depression, or feelings of isolation and despair.
  • The post should not misrepresent data or information.
  • Stories without a personal connection to dementia will not be accepted.
  • Posts should not include broad political statements or arguments.
